History of the Police Station:

                                               The police station and circle office currently function in an old government building since 11-12-1997, previously owned by the Revenue Department.The land and building were originally owned by Kuruvila Thommy of Maliakkel House, Kanjirappally. He surrendered the land during Malayalam Era 1094 for the establishment of a school.The school operated until 1922 but closed due to a lack of students.Legal heirs of Late Sri. Kuruvila Thommy filed a civil case (OS 85/01) in the Munsif Court, Kanjirappally, on 19-07-2005, claiming the land and building.The court ruled in favor of the legal heirs.

Current Status : 

                                     Based on Home Department order (No. 10126/R1/05 dated 26-09-2005), a government advocate was deputed to file an appeal. The case is currently under the consideration of the High Court.The station now operates in the old Taluk Office building as per GO(RT) 2497/2010 Home dated 02-08-2010.
