Geographical Features:

Located on a hill sloping from East to West, bordered by Meenachil and Kodoor Rivers.

Serves as the Head Quarter Police Station of Kottayam District.

Main roads passing through: Main Central Road and Kottayam-Kumily Road.

Accessible by water transport with regular boat service to Alappuzha from Kodimatha Boat Jetty.
