About the Police Station:

                  The station was officially opened on 06.04.2010 as per G.O MS No. 07/17/Home dated 08.01.2010.The station started functioning in a rented building near Thalappara Junction before being shifted to its own building near Thalayolapparambu Bus Stand on 13.12.2011. The inauguration was performed by Sri Oommen Chandy, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala.The police station is located on the northern side of the Vaikom-Kottayam Road, opposite the private bus stand, Thalayolapparambu.

History of the Police Station :

                  Before 2010, a Police Out Post was responsible for maintaining law and order in Thalayolaparambu.As per G.O.(Ms.) No.7/2010/Home dated 08.01.2010, the Government of Kerala sanctioned the creation of the Thalayolapparambu Police Station by bifurcating areas of jurisdiction from the Vaikom Police Station and Velloor Police Station.The station was officially inaugurated on 06.04.2010 and started its functions in a rented building before moving to its present location in 2011.
