ERSS

Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) is a unique project implemented nationwide by The Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India with a view to establish a single emergency number “112” and to provide assistance within the minimum time requirement. 112  operational in Kerala from 15.08.2019. The entire activities related to the project in the state is monitored and supervised by Addl. Director General of Police(HQ), Police Head Quarters and the Superintendent of Police, ICT is the Chairperson of the Implementation Committee of the project.

The state wide Control Room of the project known as State Emergency Response Center is functioning at the Police Head Quarters, Thiruvananthapuram. An Officer in the rank of DySP/ACP bears the charge of Office of the state Emergency Response Centre. 112 service was inaugurated in Kerala by the hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala in 15th August 2019.

The calls from the public to 112 are received at the state wide Control Room. The calls received are then dispatched to the District Co ordination Centres.

 Emergency Response Units along with Mobile Data Terminals to provide emergency support to the people who are in any kind of urgency. All the DCCs are equipped with modern infrastructural and technical facilities to ensure that quick and efficient service is provided to the public. The DCCs deliver the message to the police vehicle nearest to the point of emergency, the entire activities can be monitored by the State Control Room.
