Following its selection as the best station based on excellence in performance for the month of January, Gandhinagar Police Station received a complaint related to ragging the very next day. The police immediately recorded the detailed statement of the victimized student and registered a case against five senior students involved in the brutal act of ragging. Within hours, all five accused were arrested. The timely intervention of Gandhinagar Police, led by SHO T. Sreejith, made these swift arrests possible. The arrested individuals were later produced in court and remanded. The precise action taken by Gandhinagar Police in this case, which shocked the conscience of Kerala, was commendable.
Earlier, on January 3rd, a pilgrim from Andhra Pradesh, who had come for Sabarimala darshan, fell from a train. Upon learning about the incident, a police team led by Gandhinagar SHO conducted a rigorous nighttime search using torches and mobile flashlights along railway tracks and nearby bushes. Eventually, they found the injured pilgrim near Adichira railway gate and transported him on a stretcher to the medical college hospital, thereby saving his life.
Additionally, within hours, Gandhinagar Police successfully apprehended the culprits who had broken into a wholesale medical distribution center in Chunkam and stolen cash and mobile phones.
Furthermore, in response to a missing woman complaint from the Gandhinagar station limits, the police promptly located the woman and presented her before the court.
Recognizing the efficiency and professionalism of the Gandhinagar police officers, human rights activist Johny Varghese wrote an open letter to the State Police Chief appreciating their actions.
Through such exemplary actions and strict legal measures against criminals, Gandhinagar Police Station has once again emerged as the best station in the district.
